I feel it’s time for a retro week.
As I have been preparing Christmas menus and thinking about all of the treats and wonderful rich delights ahead, I have found myself hankering after fresh, vibrant but comforting food. So with this firmly in mind, this week’s menu is:
Soup ~ pea, mint & ham
Salad ~ charred sweetcorn slaw (with just the tiniest hint of chilli (£4/6)
Mid week supper ~ a hearty, vegetarian mushroom stew with thyme & feta packed with a host of different varieties of mushrooms from porcini to oyster and shiitake, a dash of brandy and a good glass of red wine. Delicious with some fresh crusty bread or creamy mash.
(£10 for 2, £18 for 4 and £4ph for more).
Tart ~ smoked salmon, creme fraiche, dill & water cress
